The Economic Development Office would like to express our sincere gratitude to Governor Ron DeSantis and Director of Emergency Management Kevin Guthrie for taking the time out of their enormously busy schedule to personally visit Suwannee County. During their visit, they toured our office which was flooded during Hurricane Debby, and met with our county officials and staff at the Building Department. They also visited several other locally-owned businesses that were flooded during the storm.

As a direct result of their visit here, emergency resources were swiftly deployed to downtown Live Oak to remove storm damage on top of multi-story buildings which resulted in numerous businesses being without power. Less than 24 hours later, that debris has been removed and power is currently being restored. This quick action is a true testament to the commitment of this administration to helping the residents not only of Suwannee County but the entire state of Florida. We are proud to have such dedicated leadership. Thank you, Governor Ron DeSantis, Director Kevin Guthrie, and the whole team at the state of Florida!
