Energy and Economic Development Connect

Yesterday our team had the opportunity to attend Duke Energy’s Electricity 101 event in Winter Garden, Florida. This informative session brought together Economic Developers to deepen our understanding of how power systems operate and how energy providers support economic development efforts.

One of the highlights of the event was the live line demonstration, showcasing the complexity and safety measures involved in maintaining electric infrastructure. We also had an in depth overview of the power industry including how energy is generated, transmitted, and delivered to industrial and commercial projects.

The event included a deep dive into power systems, offering valuable insights into grid reliability, system capacity, and future planning strategies. Duke Energy led a discussion on the critical intersection between energy infrastructure and economic development, emphasizing how power providers play a key role in supporting site readiness, business recruitment, and long term growth.

We appreciate Duke Energy’s commitment to collaboration and continuing education. Events like this help strengthen partnerships and ensure our region is well-equipped to meet the needs of new and expanding businesses.
